About Laura

Laura is a Registered Dietitian/Nutritionist, Certified L.E.A.P. therapist, personal trainer, and lover of Jesus. She graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelors of Science degree in Dietetics and Institutional Administration, and completed her dietetic internship at Texas Health Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas.

Laura spent her first two years as a dietitian working with orphans and vulnerable teenage girls in Mzuzu, Malawi, Africa.  She managed the food service operations and worked specifically with rehabilitating malnourished children as they arrived into the program. This experience gave Laura a new perspective and appreciation for nutrition and how life-giving it can be.

Restorative Nutrition, LLC was launched in 2010 as a nutrition consulting service to several clinics in the Denver Metro area.  As the demand for Laura’s services quickly increased, she branched into her own private practice. Since then, she has spent her career working alongside highly regarded physicians, including immunologists, internists, plastic surgeons, neurosurgeons, gastroenterologists, and family practice physicians. She has worked with hundreds of patients—young and old—with various different health statuses, conditions, symptoms and diseases. As a Certified L.E.A.P. Therapist, she is highly trained in food sensitivities, anti-inflammatory nutrition, and gut health, utilizing a functional medicine approach in her practice.

As a former personal trainer and specialist in metabolic testing, Laura is able instruct patients in proper fueling for workouts and optimizing their performance. She has worked with professional athletes, crossfitters, and those just simply wanting to get in shape.

Laura is a passionate public speaker.  She has shared her knowledge and insights at church services, women’s retreats, corporate events, and conferences; and she has been featured in multiple news stories on FOX 31 Denver.  Her goal is always to teach wisdom that equips and encourages.

Beyond nutrition, Laura loves her family. She lives in Redding, California with her husband, Nathan, and their son, Ari. As former Coloradans, they love mountains, skiing, hiking, biking and taking in God’s incredible beauty in the high country.
